Winning short story

For Book Day 2022, we run a competition in our social networks and, as promises are promises, here is the winner of the competition.


FOUR


His obsession with the number four started very early on in his life: four pairs of socks, four The Lord’s Prayer, and four Hail Marys every night. Then, he grew up and his idyll went further. At four o’clock in the afternoon, on the fourth day of every month, the fourth person to cross the park: four stabbings, followed by four The Lord’s Prayer and four Hail Marys. Until one day, newly incarcerated in prison, he discovered that his cell was only three-square metres. And he died.
